Microbial phosphate solubilization mechanism - role of organic acid and enzymes.
Role of siderophore for enhancing the competitiveness and survival ability of rhizobial strains in the rhizosphere. Cloning of siderophore receptor genes in rhizobia.
Cloning, purification and kinetic studies of bacterial enzymes – Phytases, Proteases, Azoreductases.
Molecular diversity of bacteria such as Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), radiation resistant bacteria and sediment bacteria and diversity in specialized soil environments e.g. heavy metal contaminated environments.
Study of PGPR strains –Antagonism, antibiotic production and their regulation, metal tolerance.
