 Technical Expertise :

  1. Genetic transformation of Streptomyces and E.coli and recombinant DNA techniques. These include protoplastation , regeneration, isolation of chromosomal and plasmid DNA, RNA isolation, RE digestiuon, southern and northern hybridisation.

  2. Techniques involved in enzyme purification and characterization. These include gel filtration, ion exchange chromatography, preparative and analytical PAGE, isoelectric focussing, SDS-PAGE, western blotting and HPLC.

  3. Immunological techniques such as maintenance  of cell lines, neutrophil isolation from whole blood, subcelluler fractionation  of PMN and cell staining for immunofluorescence microscopy.

  4. Transient transfection of various cell lines such as RAW 264.7 and Chondrosarcoma cells using DEAE-Dextran, Calcium phosphate and Lipofectin  methods.
